Opportunities to Serve

VolunteerWorkWe believe that growing followers of Jesus are most fulfilled when they serve using their giftings, abilities, and passions.  Whether you like to be behind the scenes or up front, or whether you are a people person or an organizer, there are lots of opportunities for you to find a place to serve at the Vineyard.

Hospitality Team

  • Host – greet guests and help them feel comfortable; explain connection card in bulletin and get it back; give Vineyard Music CD; show pertinent locations, coffee, etc.
  • Communion Server – serve the communion bread and drink once a month.
  • Café Monitors – make coffee, oversee and cleanup the café area on Sunday mornings.
  • Refreshment Provider – periodically provide refreshments on Sunday mornings.
  • Decorating – decorate inside of building for seasonal holidays or other special occasions.
  • Parking Lot Attendant – help people find way into building from parking lot; offer umbrellas in rain, etc.

  • Sound Tech – operate soundboard during the worship services. Training provided.
  • Video Tech – operate Power Point and video during the service.  Training provided.
  • Camera operators – take video of skits, events, etc. Equipment provided.
  • Webmaster – make updates to website.  Training provided.

Creative Arts

  • Worship Team – lead worship, play an instrument, or sing.
  • Drama – act, direct, write, build sets, make costumes, backstage help.

Small Groups

  • Small Group Host – host a small group in your home (but not necessarily be the facilitator).
  • Small Group Facilitator – facilitate a small group for a designated period of time.

Children’s Ministry

  • Nursery volunteer – assist in the care of the children ages four and under during the worship services periodically.
  • Kids Church Volunteer – teach kids ages 5-10 during the worship service on a rotational basis with other volunteers.

CharityMiscellaneous

  • Events Coordinators – help plan and arrange church wide events, including food setup and cleanup, and activities.
  • Servant Evangelism – Various outreaches throughout the year. These are one-day events for a few hours. To name just a few: hot chocolate giveaway at parades; pet watering and free sunscreen booth at Riverfest on 4th of July when we also give away insect repellant packets; Fair Affair – serve a meal to carnival workers and volunteers who set up the fair; plant flowers at the Pregnancy Resource Center.  These will be well announced prior to the event. You can join us for these or organize them.
